SRM Catalog 3.0 connection error after DVD installation

Symptom
Using Catalog 3.0 for the first time or upgrading from DVD installation and cannot connect to catalog.
Reason and Prerequisites
JAVA API version show 7.10 SP0 (1000.7.10.0.0.20081022123307)
In Connection test you see versions from build number 7.1.00.xx
Solution
Do not try to use this version. Please download from SMP the latest Service pack from
https://service.sap.com/swdc > Support Packages and Patches > Applications by Index [S] > SAP SRM Catalog > SRM-MDM CATALOG > SRM-MDM CATALOG 3.0 > OS independent
Take the latest patch of catalog 3.0 SP3
Deploy all the provided MDM component. Please follow note 1347883 when deploying the SCA files for JAVA API and UI components.
There is a new repository module available with the latest patch, this should be used instead the one provided on the DVD.
