MDM 321 – SAP Netweaver Master Data Management

Symptom

While trying to restore a Named search, the user receives an error that “The restored named searches contain undefined (i.e. unsaved) or invalid search selections, which have been removed for the current search. To correct this problem, restore each named search, modify it as necessary, and then save it to the named search”.

Reason and Prerequisites

Lookups tables used previously to define the name search have been changed.
Solution

When MDM saves data as part of Name search, expressions or Masks, it
Saves the records IDs not the actual content of the field.
If lookup data is created in any table and used as a reference to it, the
System will save the reference to value ID and not to value text.
If you delete the value and create it all over again it is no longer
the same and the system cannot locate it any more. The error indicates you must create the search term again.
