Cannot Stop MDM 7.1 Server from the MDM 7.1 Console
[bus stop] [don stop] [one stop] [press stop key]
Symptom
When trying to stop the MDM server via MDM Console, the following error message is thrown and the MDM server continues to run, the “stop” command fails.
The error message:
“Call to SAPWebServiceStopInstance failed with error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.”
Solution
The following suggestions can solve this issue:
1) In Windows Services check that SAPHostControl (the SAP host agent) is running. If not please start it and retry starting/stopping MDM from then Console.
2) If SAPHostControl is running, please try to stop and restart it, because it could be that for some reason the service is running but is not available.
